Implicit Type Conversion(UAEndpointDescriptor,String) Operator

OpcLabs.EasyOpcUA Assembly > OpcLabs.EasyOpc.UA Namespace > UAEndpointDescriptor Class > Implicit Type Conversion Operator : Implicit Type Conversion(UAEndpointDescriptor,String) Operator
The string to be converted (a URL string of the resource).

The value represents an OPC UA endpoint descriptor string. Any string can be passed to this parameter (i.e. will not cause System.ArgumentException), but not all values make sense and will work when an operation using them is attempted. The OPC UA endpoint descriptor string is typically the URL of the server endpoint.

The value of this parameter can be null (Nothing in Visual Basic).

Converts a System.String to an endpoint descriptor.

Parameters

endpointDescriptorString
The string to be converted (a URL string of the resource).

The value represents an OPC UA endpoint descriptor string. Any string can be passed to this parameter (i.e. will not cause System.ArgumentException), but not all values make sense and will work when an operation using them is attempted. The OPC UA endpoint descriptor string is typically the URL of the server endpoint.

The value of this parameter can be null (Nothing in Visual Basic).

Return Value

For a non-null input, returns the endpoint descriptor with the given URL string. Returns null if the input is null.

This method never returns null (Nothing in Visual Basic).

Remarks

A generic string is used instead of System.Uri, because in some cases, the value may not represent a real URI.

For non-null inputs, this operator is equivalent to UAEndpointDescriptor Constructor(String).

This method or property does not throw any exceptions, aside from execution exceptions such as System.Threading.ThreadAbortException or System.OutOfMemoryException.
