MakeArrayType Method (_VarType)

OpcLabs.BaseLib Assembly > OpcLabs.BaseLib.ComInterop.ComTypes Namespace > _VarType Interface : MakeArrayType Method
Returns a OpcLabs.BaseLib.ComInterop.VarType object representing an array of the current type.
Syntax
'Declaration

<NotNullAttribute()>
Function MakeArrayType() As VarType
'Usage

Dim instance As _VarType
Dim value As VarType

value = instance.MakeArrayType()
[NotNull()]
VarType MakeArrayType()
[NotNull()]
VarType^ MakeArrayType();

Return Value

Because there is an implicit conversion from OpcLabs.BaseLib.ComInterop.VarType to System.Int32 and OpcLabs.BaseLib.ComInterop.VarTypes, in languages that support implicit conversion operators (such as C# or VB.NET), you can simply use the return value in place of an integer (System.Int32) (representing the numerical value of the COM VARTYPE), or in place a OpcLabs.BaseLib.ComInterop.VarTypes enumeration value. When the implicit conversion operators are not supported (such as with Python.NET), you can use the ToInt32 or ToVarTypes static method instead.

A OpcLabs.BaseLib.ComInterop.VarType object representing an array of the current type.

This method never returns null (Nothing in Visual Basic).

Exceptions
ExceptionDescription

A method call was invalid for the object's current state.

This is a usage error, i.e. it will never occur (the exception will not be thrown) in a correctly written program. Your code should not catch this exception.
