UANodeDescriptor Constructor(String)

OpcLabs.EasyOpcUA Assembly > OpcLabs.EasyOpc.UA Namespace > UANodeDescriptor Class > UANodeDescriptor Constructor : UANodeDescriptor Constructor(String)
An node Id expanded text (contains namespace URI, and namespace-relative node Id).

The value represents an expanded text of an OPC UA node Id. Any string can be passed to this parameter (i.e. will not cause System.ArgumentException), but not all values make sense and will work when an operation using them is attempted. Example of node Id expanded texts are "nsu=http://test.org/UA/Data/;i=10853" or "ns=1;s=SomeNode".

The value of this parameter cannot be null (Nothing in Visual Basic).

Initializes a new instance of the class, from specified node Id expanded text.

Parameters

nodeIdExpandedText
An node Id expanded text (contains namespace URI, and namespace-relative node Id).

The value represents an expanded text of an OPC UA node Id. Any string can be passed to this parameter (i.e. will not cause System.ArgumentException), but not all values make sense and will work when an operation using them is attempted. Example of node Id expanded texts are "nsu=http://test.org/UA/Data/;i=10853" or "ns=1;s=SomeNode".

The value of this parameter cannot be null (Nothing in Visual Basic).

Exceptions
ExceptionDescription

A null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic) is passed to a method that does not accept it as a valid argument.

This is a usage error, i.e. it will never occur (the exception will not be thrown) in a correctly written program. Your code should not catch this exception.

Remarks

In languages that support implicit conversions (such as C# or VB.NET), in many cases you do not have call this constructor explicitly. When indicated, a call to an available equivalent implicit conversion operator will be created by the compiler automatically.
