Property Value

The string identifier of the node. It is a string that uniquely identifies the node within its namespace.

This value of this property can be null (Nothing in Visual Basic).

The value of this property cannot be null (Nothing in Visual Basic).

The default value of this property is "" (String.Empty).

Remarks

String identifiers are one of the possible types of identifiers for a node in an OPC UA server's address space. They provide a flexible way to identify a node, especially when numeric or GUID identifiers are not suitable.

Values are restricted to 4096 characters to ensure efficient transmission and processing.

This member or type is for use from COM. It is not meant to be used from .NET or Python. Refer to the corresponding .NET member or type instead, if you are developing in .NET or Python.

This method or property does not throw any exceptions, aside from execution exceptions such as System.Threading.ThreadAbortException or System.OutOfMemoryException.
