FindSecurityGroupElement Method

The Id of the security group.
An optional path to the folder that contains the security group.
Finds a published security group by its Id in an optionally specified security group folder.

Parameters

securityGroupId
The Id of the security group.
securityGroupFolderPath
An optional path to the folder that contains the security group.

Return Value

Returns a security group element representing the security group, or null when the specified security group does not exist.
Exceptions

A null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic) is passed to a method that does not accept it as a valid argument.

This is a usage error, i.e. it will never occur (the exception will not be thrown) in a correctly written program. Your code should not catch this exception.

Remarks

When the securityGroupFolderPath is not null, the search is performed in the specified security group folder only. When the securityGroupFolderPath is null, the whole security group folder structure is searched. Note that the security group Id must be unique across all security group folders in the SKS.
